Client Testimonial – Bookatable Academy

November 13, 2015 Events 0 Comments

As Head of European Communications at Booktable, Josephine Ellis is responsible for running events such as the annual Bookatable Academy. The Academy has been running now for six years, it’s aim is to educate restaurants on how best to promote themselves and make use of the best marketing tools available in today’s market.

The 2015 conference was attended by approximately 200 London restaurant and marketing managers, with presentations by executive speakers on how their company’s products can be utilised to benefit restaurant businesses. To cover the event, Josephine wanted a photographer to produce images she could use for Bookatable’s website, marketing materials, B2B communications as well as their online comms.

Having worked with Carrie before and seen her standards of work, Josephine got in touch and sent over a detailed event brief, requesting photos to represent the venue and attendees, shots of networking, the key speakers, and the panel discussion. After a few email exchanges, her requirements were defined and Carrie attended the conference at the prestigious Hotel Café Royal, on Regents Street.

The morning consisted of the guests arrival and breakfast, followed by presentations from Google, Deliveroo and Hailo. Shortly after, a series of short talks were delivered by the owners and directors from Michelin starred establishments Pied a Terre and The Square, as well as Jamie’s Italian and The Hilton, ending with a group panel discussion. Carrie captured a mix of the morning’s action, and sent the final images to Josephine within a few days of the event. Happy with the results, Josephine described Carrie’s photos as “fantastic”, commenting;

“Carrie has given us professional looking photos with a candid feel, which captured the opulence of the venue and buzz of the event.”

Thinking about how the project went, Josephine was pleased with the way in which Carrie was able to understand her requirements for such a big event and meet her expectations when it came to delivery. She found Carrie professional and very easy to work with from beginning to end, adding;

“We have several types of PR and event activities throughout the year, everything from restaurant food shoots to conferences and trade shows that we would use Carrie’s services for again.”

Overall Josephine would happily recommend Carrie to other businesses looking to run an event or conference. Coming from an extensive PR background and understanding the importance of capturing such events, Josephine has had plenty of experience when it comes to sourcing suitable photographers. Pleased to have been able to achieve her objectives by choosing Carrie, she said;

“In over a decade of working in the PR industry, finding good and reliable photographers has always been hit and miss. Carrie is the epitome of professionalism and her work speaks for itself.”
